There are many of my animated pieces on this channel if you poke around it a bit. I've given up trying to moderate this channel- pieces seem to vanish and then reappear, sometimes with intended music. More than 3 1/2 million views and I've made less than $400- the youtube economy, gag!
Your Feets Too Big
Classic Sesame Street from early 1990's. I designed and animated it. I used to have it on my channel but it disappeared, so here it is again.

A Sesame Street song I designed and animated. I took it down when some overseas company claimed it belonged to them, which it did not. UA-cam misses some of these bums who scan the giant library looking for videos to claim for profit.

The first commercial I ever made, in 1972, at Snazelle Films. Unfortunately the color has really faded, but what do you want for under twenty dollars?

I heard this song on Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Show and just had to animate to it. The lyrics were a bit odd when I really listened to them, but the rhythm was a treat.

When Starbucks were suddenly popping out all over, in 1998, I wrote/animated an episodic satire of it all in gif animation. Now you get to see it in youtube glory. If you'd like to see more of the story, which takes the girls all the way to Mesquite, Nevada, please say so!

An airport story I wrote long before "Snakes on a Plane." For fast readers only. This used to be on my site as gif animation, now set to music in Flash. With Anita, Whinsey, and Mr. Pickles.

With lyrics like, "chewy, delicious, bigger than your finger," or was it "bigger than you figure"? Anyway, I designed and directed this commercial right after Ruthless People. A number of very talented animators working at Playhouse Pictures did the animation. The product never took off it was like chewing gum but you swallowed it.

This is the party song from "MAKE ME PSYCHIC", 1978, for those who want to get right to the musical treat of the film. Written and sung by Al Dodge, with Robert Armstrong and Paul Yountz(?) playing along.

Fats Waller would have applauded this parody.😊😊
Didn't you work with Sesame Street?
Thank you Sally for the beautiful cartoon

I remember this weird looking thing and the song when I was a kid
Mike Jittlov's "Wizard of Time and Space"!
The thing that bugs me about this is how they keep calling Rollo "Rahlo". Joking aside, thanks for all the amazing animations I saw as a child watching Sesame Street.
Hahaha
childhood memory unlock!
Nice!
Its as if a dream was painted onto the animation cells
Cool- just as it was intended.

Glad it makes you happy!
Drugs never would have crossed my mind. Its an homage really. Nice
Thanks- you get it!
@@sallycruikshank you were such a part of my childhood. I really got lost in yoyr world. I was just watching one of your old interviews and it even stands as good advice today. It was really great stumbling on you on here. Its that vibe that I search for in my art. Like not the style or story but the vibe. It feeds my soul. Idk how to describe. Anyway having you respond os one of the thrills of my life. Thank you!
@@OldHoTrollin Just such a really nice comment, thank you.
This video was posted to UA-cam before my current device if I am using was invented
yep but still looks good I think.
Wow Anita really put on some weight.
hahaha!
Thank you for posting this and your other animated films. I thought I was pretty well-informed about the history of animation, but somehow I'd never run across your name before. I see that there is a lot left to discover. I was 12 years old when this was made and the only movie theaters where it would have been shown at that time or later in the Chicago area were the college film clubs and a couple of art house and revival cinemas, that existed back then. I always wanted to do animation but my life took a different path. Now, I finally am, but not with cels, cel paint and 16mm film (or 35 or 8). I have a lot of respect for the work that went into traditional animation before computer graphics and digital processing. I find the old technology fascinating, but I'm also glad I don't have to use it.
Thanks for your interesting comment and good luck with your animation. The old process was a bear but maybe allowed for more individuality.
@@sallycruikshank Thank you for your response and your good wishes. I imagine the worst part of the old process must have been waiting for the film to come back from the lab, followed by having to cut and splice by hand. Also, the means of distributing one's work were very limited. With the new technology, I can do things by myself with a computer and normal consumer electronics products that would have been impossible for a single person in the past. Anything I make by hand will still only be a few seconds long, but with computer animation, I can do things that are a couple of minutes long. As for individuality; I see what you mean, but it is possible to use the new tools in an individual manner. Unfortunately, it's done too seldom. By the way, I agree with you completely about motion in animation. Personally, I get sick of seeing things squash and stretch and anticipate and follow-through all over the place. Not to mention the obnoxious cuteness. I hope I haven't taken up too much of your time with this long reply.
@@laurencefinston7036 ink and paint was the most tedious part. Editing wasn't significant because you didn't want to throw anything away.
@@sallycruikshank Thank you for the information. I've always heard that cel paint wasn't fun to work with. I actually have a ream of cels and a set of cel paints, but I haven't tried them out yet.
@@laurencefinston7036 if you have actual cel vinyl paints made by Cartoon Colour Company and they're not dried out, you're very lucky!

Is this THE Sally Cruikshank herself!? watching this at 2am rn
Go to sleep!
This scene looks like it could’ve been used in the muppet show.
Kermit isn’t seen on Sesame Street as much as he used to be. He spends more time with his muppets gang on Disney and Disney +.
I just started thinking about this
It was hard to come up with images to match the lyrics.
I just wanted to say that I love your work!
Oh thank you thank you thank you.
Seen at Spike and Mike's Festival of Animation at Riverside Community College. Nice interpretation of how my vivid dreams play out.
That was a long time ago. Dream on!
sally, ive just gotta say you are a HUGE inspiration to me. ever since ive seen your animating face like a frog last year ive wanted to draw and animate more than ever before. ive told most of my friends about you and i would go on and on about your work for hours if i could
Wow that's so very nice. Stay inspired!
You get to make cool animations. I had to take 'Remedial Stick Figure Drawing.'
Pretty soon AI will do that for you!

I loved sesame street until season 46
Uh oh, season 46 sounds bad!
Does anybody know who sings this?
I don't think I've ever seen a more lucid looking human being. :)
If you knew me, you wouldn't think so! But I'm good at math!
Darn it, now I want a pull-the-string Quasi doll.
Each frame is so full of joy. This film is really a pillar of independent animation.
Thank you , enjoy!

A classic from my childhood, I hope this is preserved for future generations to see what real outsider animation is.
Thanks. We've made numerous 35mm prints stored at different film archives around the world, a safer method of storage than any digital format. I appreciate your concern and kind words.

You are my biggest inspiration when it comes to art. I love your work!
You are so nice. Thanks so much. Stay inspired!
It feels like since I first watched this video I've been unable to just like, get it out of my head. Like there's nights where visuals and soundbites from it have just popped into my head and kept me up, but there's something just so infectious about it all.
I hope that's a good thing. I have tinnitus so continuous sounds in the night are not a happy thing for me!
Vibe Island from _Super Princess Peach_ is basically Nintendo’s Island of Emotion.
I often found this segment very inspiring.
I'm glad.

This reminds me of a song by Genesis.
