There are many of my animated pieces on this channel if you poke around it a bit. I've given up trying to moderate this channel- pieces seem to vanish and then reappear, sometimes with intended music. More than 3 1/2 million views and I've made less than $400- the youtube economy, gag!
Your Feets Too Big
Classic Sesame Street from early 1990's. I designed and animated it. I used to have it on my channel but it disappeared, so here it is again.

A Sesame Street song I designed and animated. I took it down when some overseas company claimed it belonged to them, which it did not. UA-cam misses some of these bums who scan the giant library looking for videos to claim for profit.

I heard this song on Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Show and just had to animate to it. The lyrics were a bit odd when I really listened to them, but the rhythm was a treat.

When Starbucks were suddenly popping out all over, in 1998, I wrote/animated an episodic satire of it all in gif animation. Now you get to see it in youtube glory. If you'd like to see more of the story, which takes the girls all the way to Mesquite, Nevada, please say so!

An airport story I wrote long before "Snakes on a Plane." For fast readers only. This used to be on my site as gif animation, now set to music in Flash. With Anita, Whinsey, and Mr. Pickles.

With lyrics like, "chewy, delicious, bigger than your finger," or was it "bigger than you figure"? Anyway, I designed and directed this commercial right after Ruthless People. A number of very talented animators working at Playhouse Pictures did the animation. The product never took off it was like chewing gum but you swallowed it.

This is the party song from "MAKE ME PSYCHIC", 1978, for those who want to get right to the musical treat of the film. Written and sung by Al Dodge, with Robert Armstrong and Paul Yountz(?) playing along.

Thank you so much for sharing your work on UA-cam like this! These shorts are so unique and fun
Omg I thought this was some fever dream when I was a kid
Ha, some of my animation is even more feverish!
watching your channel high will either be the best of times or the worst of times

1:10 is that a tree with 4 eyes?!
Sure, why not?
Curious if there is a likelihood in the future of a new transfer of this cartoon scanning and distributing at a moderm resolution
Yes and no. I made a DCP six years ago- at the time it cost more than $1000. No one's ever requested it. and now DVDs and Blu Rays, any physical media, are starting to seem obsolete. I have 35mmprints stored in various archives.
I just discovered your work while looking for short films, and im absolutely captivated by your art!!
Oh that's great. enjoy!
Wow...youtube has everything...just thought of this song and decided to search. PBS was great back in the day
This is amazing
thanks. One of the only flash animations I did that I still like.
They don't make music like this no mo
alas, you're right.
Hey, you’re the owner of abstract count, right?
hi. Not the owner but yes I did those, using Color Ade paper.
@@sallycruikshank I wonder a lot of things, How did you make that thing behind the White twelve with turquoise “eyes” move out of the screen, and how did you moves cameras for Four and Fifteen?

you released this short two months after my mother was born (November 1977) and posted this UA-cam video two months after my brother was born (August 2006) pretty neat!! Anyway, I love this, it's so outlandish

such beautiful creativity! this was epic. really felt authentic to a random ass short in a dvd full of them youd find at goodwill. very wonderful!
thanks.
I've been showing this era of Sesame Street to my daughter (she is 8 months, I am 40) - it's what I was raised on, such enriching and uplifting content. Not too saturated or hyperactive, like the rest. This particular animation and song... I'd completely forgotten until we came across it, then every bit of it came rushing back in to my mind. When I was very little though, I did't underatand the resolution into "above below," but I still remember having my tiny perceptual mind expanded by this art!
Enjoy your baby and thanks for this wonderful comment.
This has been my all-time favorite cartoon for over a decade. Ms. Cruikshank, bless you.
That's really nice. Thank you.
I UNDERSTAND WHY THE LITTLE GIRL IN THE HELL SCENE DONT LIKE ANIMATION BECAUSE ITS CREEPY \ SAD
I love Anita's laugh

This is one of the all time best animated shorts. Just as mesmerising on rewatch. I'm so glad this exists
So glad you enjoy it so much!

so glad to find a kids video with the comments enabled, even if i didn't watch the show as a kid, this song is stuck in my mind since i heard it for the first time
Thanks. I didn't know that most do not have comments enabled. I've always enjoyed the comments.
@sallycruikshank not sure about your channel, everywhere else, kids videos, comments disabled, btw, when you upload a new video and mark it for kids comments will be disabled automaticly

This is my first time going down this art rabbit hole, but this is genuinely so BEAUTIFUL!!!
here's to finding your way out. Happy 2025!
@sallycruikshank out of curiosity, though, was this animated short an actual trailer for an unfinished Quasi short? Or was this a parody of some sorts.
@@charlotteroot442 It was a genuine pitch for an animated feature I wanted to make. Making fun of the pitch idea at the same time. Nothing came of it.
I really loved this cartoon, though I thought it was from the 1960s or something older, lol. Really reminds me of Picasso.
Thank you!
Deep childhood nostalgia just got unlocked in my mind. 😭 Really love this music piece. I know this is coming to 18 years since you uploaded this. I want to say Thank you for showing this great piece of 90s nostalgia. 😊
And thanks for taking the time to write this. Happy 2025!
that was insane
:)
I'll have what she's having.
Sally, this has got to be one of the best animations you've made, alongside the Abstract Count animations, as soon as I came across this animation from 1988 I thought it looked mildly interesting, and the second I began listening to it, I was SO emotional! This sounds like something I'd play over and over again as a 5 year old, I am an individual the younger generation, after all. Even though I haven't heard nor seen this animation anywhere, I unfortunately don't remember it, either, I can already imagine child me smiling big and wide at this song! The C major key and colorful, complex visuals match that of a children's show's intro that I would've watched that stretched from 1988 to 2017. Thanks, Sally, you truly are a legend in animation!
Saw this when I was 8 years old and boy did it scare me. That said, I really love how you captured that old surreal and often times nightmarish Fleischer Bros vibe in this and how wonderfully fun your other animations are. Thanks for sharing it! I'm surprised I don't see see the opening to "Lover Boy" or "Mad House" on your site also!
Some studios don't care if you post titles, others get panties in wad and want titles removed. Copyright paranoia.
you were probably my introduction to surrealist focused animation and why i kept drawing i use to see stuff like this as street art on buildings hospitals and whatnot as a kid so i cant really pull back from those memories
very cool! stay inspired!
@sallycruikshank thanks! i feel honored to see you reply back

This is one of the most incredible cartoons I've ever seen!! Wow
Wow, what a nice comment, thanks!!
Sally, I just wanted to say how much your animations mean to me. I grew up with them as a kid and had admittedly forgotten about most of them for the longest time. I vaguely remembered seeing something about a crocodile skydiving though I wasn't sure if it came from Sesame Street or Between the Lions. All my life, I had wondered what that beautiful piece of animation from my childhood was. Until recently, when I was suffering from serious depression, and I stumbled upon Above It All here on UA-cam. Just seeing the thumbnail, a wave of nostalgia went over me. That was it! I finally found this beautiful, almost dream-like cartoon. I've since rewatched your entire Sesame Street portfolio. I later showed this clip to my mom, and we shared a heartfelt moment remembering it. It first aired long after she had outgrown Sesame Street, but she remembered it from my childhood. Your artwork is absolutely beautiful, and you helped me through some dark times. You helped me get off my island of emotions, that's for sure. Did you catch the reference? Lol.
bobafett2205 thank you for this very moving comment. I can imagine how it must have felt when you found the video you wondered about, and there it was. I'm glad you are no longer in deep depression, people use the term casually but it's a very serious condition. I really appreciate what you wrote. Stay well, stay inspired. Sally
@sallycruikshank I never expected a response from the creator of this masterpiece! That made my day!
@@bobafett22005 sweet
This reminds me of when I was totally into ispy 🔍
Some are saying they find this creepy but I just find this hilarious. The rapid fire visual puns (and the punchline at the end) are very Looney Tunes.
Thanks Zoe.
Insanely catchy
Hey thanks that's nice.
this animation is genuinely one of my favorite things ever, and not just because of dannys song---i love how colorful and ‘surreal’ this is, and its so fun to watch !! I occasionally come back here and rewatch it a few times a day, depending on if i remember that it exists,, which this isnt hard to forget considering I've watched it so many times now it baffles me how fluid everything is and how it works so well together. i also love to doodle dannys character when im bored at school<3 the designs are so fun and i genuinely cannot get enough , this is great :)
Such a nice message, thank you! Makes me happy on a gloomy day!
Words can’t express how much I love the mood of this film. So evocative of that time, when 1930 was only 40 years ago (like 1984) and your Mars-y style was so stylish, dreamy and wild.
Such a wonderful comment, thanks Rick. It got me thinking of a lot of things.
the best way i can describe this is, if yellow submarine and fleisher cartoons had a baby
Okay I get that. Thanks.
As i was reviewing with my daughter about the plot of a story, this song came rushing back to me. I am now 40, and i am so grateful that i grew up in a error where our kids tv shows were both entertaining and educational. I let my daughter listen to this song and i know it will her to remember the different parts of a story. Thank you so much for this beautiful memory of my childhood
Oh that's lovely, thank you!
